Breakfast was another story. The first breakfast we had was at Generations, the restaurant associated with The Golden Arrow hotel. A local stopped us in the street the first day and handed us some receipts from the store she had just shopped at…it gave us $5 off purchases there. Super nice random act of kindness. So we asked her where to have breakfast and that’s where she sent us. It was okay, though…nothing special.
There was a nice patio at what I think was the Northwoods Inn where they boast “best breakfast in town”…not. And the waiter talked to himself and served us reluctantly.
The best breakfast was at Ashley’s Cafe. It’s further down and away from the main part of town. Ashley’s advertises as being “worth the walk” and it was. Yummy breakfast, good coffee and good service (the waitress remembered that I drank decaf from the day before!).
On a different note, the best dessert in town is the Ice Cream at Ben & Jerry’s. Good old chocolate flavour can’t be beat.
