I am a 53 year old physician-musician.  Yes, I dropped out of high school and followed a circuitous route to medicine as a mature(ish) student.  But that’s really irrelevant.  The important point is that I felt strongly, as did all the members of the band, that marriage and family took precedence.  So music took a back seat for a number of years for all of us.  But that didn’t make it less important, or make us lesser musicians.  The old music industry was based on a star system with fresh young bodies fed into the mill regularly.  Today, anybody can use the tools (computer, internet etc.) to get their music heard around the world.  The line between “professional” and “amateur” musician is getting blurred.  This blog is about my journey to getting heard.
